My Story: My studio sits in the Foothills of Tucson, Arizona, where I find my inspiration every day. I love the colors and the textures from nature that surround me and try to recreate the desert in my glass and jewelry. I love gemstones and rocks of all colors and shapes. I love creating lampworked glass in the flame. And I like to use silver and gold to enhance my jewelry. I call my work a harmony of glass and metal.
The cabochon: It all starts with the lampworked cabochon - worked in the flame here in my Tucson studio. This one measures approximately 27mm. Purple, caramel, turquoise.... with a hint of a dichroic splash glinting in the center. Dichroic glass is that special glass that everyone loves.
The cabochon is then bezel set in sterling silver on a pendant that is a rounded triangular shape and embellished with 22K gold accents. It then rests on a long bar of silver off of a handmade chain.
The handmade sterling silver chain is topped off with a ruby fuchsite tumbled bead near the clasp and measures 3/4 inch by 5/8 inch
The chain is 15 1/2 inches.. See the photo of me wearing it to see how it sits on the body.
The pendant measures 3 1/4 inchs long and 2 inches at it's widest part.
