The name Orenda is from the Iriquois Indians. It is thought that an orenda is a supernatural force believed to be present in all objects and persons and to be the spiritual force by which human accomplishment is attained.
This lampwork bead necklace is surely an accomplishment for me and will bring you a very chic artsy accessory for your jewelry collection. Wear it with jeans. Wear it out to dinner. It will surely get noticed.
Each bead is made in the flame by me in my studio here in Tucson, AZ. I usually design an Orenda necklace around a theme or colorway. The one here is named Forest and contains all the colors found in a forest.
For these necklaces I usually make around 100 beads so I can choose just the right ones for harmony in the piece. The clasp is handmade of sterling silver. The chosen beads are then strung on silk cord using a pearl knotting technique.
This Forest Orenda measures 20 inches.
